could anyone from our union please answer me a couple of questions regarding these hours they want out of every office
firstly we have had some proposels how to save the hours which are utter bollocks they want to rip the whole place apart
by introducing a four day week for half the staff less people on the ips 3 day weeks consisting of 2 13 hour dutys the 4 day men
doing 1 walk then another half a walk this will mean floaters will have there dutys taken away and will be spare so they will be
covering sick or holidays we have already lost three posties in the last few months and they havnt been replaced but them savings dont count
so management tell us the manager wants to get these dutys in as soon as possible he wants to trial it we have heard nothing from the cwu
it looks like our rep will kick out these stupid proposles we have put other ideas to the management what would save most of the hours but they aint intrested
i think the more disruption and hours out the bigger there bonus is going to be any comments welcome

I'll go by what's happening down my place.
1st of all NOTHING SHOULD BE SIGNED OR AGREED until your Area Rep has seen it and then it will only be ok'd when your whole area have made their agreements.
2nd,in my office someone has just left we are using that as 40hrs in the proposal, for your DOM or whoever to dismiss the 3 that have left you is total bollox, they HAVE to be in any hours counted, don't let them tell you different.
Tough if they want it in quicker, just go down the disagreement procedure.
Your dutys sound like a mare, your rep and area rep will have to be on the ball.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I'm not sure what's going on but our manager held two WTLL sessions on Tue,in one he told them about taking on
extra work during the summer, but neglected to mention it to the other group!
Last year if any overtime came up he said" we can only pay 6 1/2hours and not the full duty(8 hours)because it's summer!"
Do they have a crystal ball, because if anything the traffic seems to be going up,yet i assume there saying it'll only take you
so long to deliver(not actual span)so you can take some more!
No docket,no chance!

SAVINGS
AS POSTMAN SAYS THERE SHOULD BE NO SAVINGS BEING MADE OFFICIALLY IN ANY OFFICE TILL THERE IS A NATIONAL AGREEMENT THIS IS WHY WE ARE BEING BALLOTED FOR. I TOTTALLY AGREE THAT PROBABLY 80% OF POSTIES WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO 5HR WALKS JUST SO THE BA.....DS CAN SAVE MONEY...WE NEED A MASSIVE YES VOTE TO STOP ALL THE s**t R/M WANT..
