its now apparant that crozier and leighton are not for moving on this dispute so we have got to be prepared for the long haul.
if the 1 day strikes are to continue they must be a friday to give everybody 1 week in 6 a full wage rather than picking different days and maybe the same people are not losing money.
the union have got to bring the labour party up to scratch with our side of the arguement and if they dont want to help then withdraw all our contributions and tell them to get to f---.
this is one fight we must win or all that has been won in the past will be lost and the job will go down the pan and within a few years we will be part time.

In my DO we have rest weeks. I think we're one of the few offices that do.
They're nice when you're on your rest week, but the 5 weeks leading up to it can be a bit of a slog. One of the good things about them is that you can book a week annual leave before of after the rest week and you've got 2 weeks off. Last summer I had 3 weeks off as I managed to get the week before and after.

Re: long haul
I think the only way is an all out strike, all out for a week wud hit a lot harder, be hard to loose a weeks wage but in the long term what will be harder if they tossers get there way!!!! :lfomailman71 wrote:its now apparant that crozier and leighton are not for moving on this dispute so we have got to be prepared for the long haul.

If people just did the job properly and decided not to do overtime no strikes would be necessary.
How many delivery staff chose to work overtime etc on Saturday (most of the delayed mail from Friday will have been delivered).
All the mail that gets delivered on overtime just makes a mockery of the effort and hardship the rest of us put in.
WTR will never be viable when most people will only think about the available overtime rather than making the point that we are overworked, understaffed and underpaid.

A bit drastic that move i think, there is no way you would get full backing for that,it would split the workforce even more than it already is.

At the moment we are solid, this must remain if we are to win this dispute. When the next strike day is called hopefully it will not fall on the rest day of the same people as before,if it does then i suggest that people who get paid donate there days pay to colleagues in there offices who have lost money again.
This is the problem one day strikes cause, but we can get round it,where as if we go all out people may not be as supportive, and that would be disastrous.
