Reports and photos from the picket line

Post by Big Daz »

The picket line at my D.O started at 3.30 am and ran through to 07.30 am. At its peak we had 21 members on the picket line.

We had 6 people go in 5 were members one was not. One was a OPG acting up as a manager even though both managers are at work this week doing their normal mangament duties. The OPG does the RLE duty so this week has been paid mangers wages to perform his normal duty! The non strikers WERE SNEAKED IN VIA THE CALLERS OFFICE by the acting manager, we were expecting them to come in via the normal entrance which was were both the proper mangers were standing. A devious trick! I actually want another strike now just so we can extend the picket line further down the road so the non strikers will HAVE to come past us. However after that myself and another member moved further down we saw the acting manager hovering in the callers office. And as you are no doubt about to guess we guessed that somebody else was going to turn up for work which they did!

We had two vans turn up, the first van was a night shift driver who is on strike tonight rather than last night and he wound down his window and asked if he could go through which of course was the advice from CWU HQ yesterday otherwise they would lose 2 days wages which isnt fair.

The 2nd van had a driver we havent seen before, so potentially a NON STRIKER. He drove straight in didnt stop to speak like the previous driver which was considered bad manners by my lads. The 2nd driver made a very quick get away and was booed!

The mangers were out on the gate keeping watch but gave up after both vans had been and gone and the non strikers were safely inside the building !

Photos of my picket line to come, hopefully on monday!

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We had 100% support. A good turn out on the picket line. I was there for 14 hours, we have delivery, mailcentre and distribution in one building approx 600 staff. We had a bit of a party towards the end of the day :nana
keep smiling......
