Get a form from your rep and join the union. Or, do what a few of us have already done and join two!

mh80.

In law everyone is protected.

You DO NOT have to be a Union Member.

If your concience tells you that you cannot cross the line then you will be treated as if you were a Union member.

It would be ILLEGAL for RM to treat you in a negative way for not attending work during this legal official industrial action.

Do what you feel is best for you. If you do not go in you do not have to telephone and tell them, just stay home but if you want to then join us on the picket line or nearby in support.

Good luck to you my friend.

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL

Just don't turn up for work. Stay in bed while others stand on the picket lines in support of the dispute to protect the future of ALL Royal Mail workers.

Good luck my friend.

Sorry for sounding stupid but I thought you had to be a member of the union otherwise it would be classed as wild-catting? Am I totally off here?

We were briefed in todays wtl session and we asked twice just to make sure, if a non cwu employee does not come to work Royal Mail will not discipline them, the Manager also said they could quote him if anything happened.
I presume that is because if they were threatened with disciplinary action they would almost certainly join the CWU.

Evilc, mate. The only trouble I've got with your post is in your signature----------------if a manager says the sky is blue, always look out the window and check cause they may be lying, or they had to check with the DOM and are 1 day late in telling you.Image Our rep tries to protect the newbies until they got a permanent contract, then your signature will not count, but I guess it's different offices, different strokes-----------------KAWAKImage
