I'll move this to the Ballot forum
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

THE BIG Q....?

Post by L Tommo »

I think morals and principles are a very valued commodity to have in anyones make up.. Sticking to your guns when you know your right is a noble
thing to do when you know your be shafted for ur ethics... I know there are many on here that would fight tooth and nail, but as the world is now more so taken over with (greed, items, material things and power) People just have much chance of standing up... But together in this union we can....

ROYAL MAIL AND THIS GOVERMENT WILL HAVE TO LISTEN TO US, WE NEED TO CARRY ON THIS STRIKE OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, NOT 6 SOLID MONTHS BUT ONE DAY STRIKES A WEEK AND WORK TO YOUR 318'S AS MENTIONED SO MANY TIMES BEFORE BY ME AND MANY OTHERS..

Then Royal Mail will have to listen and the goverment will to.. We pay there wages thru OUR CWU subs, (some do) I dont opted out and i urge you to do the same until some one stands up for us in Parliment and fights for jobs for life like we had before these two doughnuts came along... a TORY/LABOUR COCK UP BOTH AS BAD AS EACH OTHER...

UNITED WE STAND BUT DEVIDED WE FALL...

OUT

GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY ON FRIDAY.... BE GOOD BUT IF NOT DONT GET CAUGHT!! :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause

oooo this is a really difficult one for me as a cwu activist i wont cross a picket line and dont care if im the last one left on the picket line but the poll doesnt state if its 6 months of 1 days action or poss all out for 6 months as a postie whos passionate about the future of RM but also a family man with the usual bills and mortgages and teenage children i would like to say i be out for 6 months or whatever it takes but theres other factors involved as well

so not voted yet will give it some thought and vote later

hope this dont piss the activists off but i just being honest

but i dont think it will go on for 6 months of 1 day actions it we still at a stalemate after a couple of months the cwu will have to crank it up and go all out to put more pressure on :lfo :cfo

Six months or six years, I would never scab. I've got a photo of my dad aged 14 just after he started working for the L.M.S in 1943. On his uniform lapel he's wearing his National Union of Railwaymen badge. When you're brought up in a family like ours (and very many people have been) the idea of crossing a picket line fills you with disgust. Leighton can say strikes are a 70s thing, but they're not. They go back much further than that, and he knows it. If our class hadn't get off it's backside we would still have his class shoving kids up chimneys, working 56 hours a week in the dark, satanic mills his class owned, sending them down the mines his class owned and sending cargoes of human misery from Africa to the West Indies and southern states of America where black people would still have to sit on the back of the bus and stand up to let a white person sit down. Women would still be waiting to be allowed to vote. The workhouse would still be a feature of towns and cities (and the last one only closed it's doors in 1945) and health and safety in the workplace would be a pipe dream. The working class was never given anything by the likes of Leighton and Crozier or anyone else. Everything we've got, we or our forefathers (and mothers) have fought for. So if anyone is thinking of scabbing, you are betraying the generations which came before you and you are helping boss class scum to put your children's generation into a state which will be not much better than serfdom.

Strike tomm

Post by coppertop »

Well just one thing could anyone clarify for me ,our dom said that anyone crossing the pickett line to go to work tomm would only get paid for the hours they work so if they run out of work are they going to send them all home. If this is the case it really shows the contempt that royal mail have for their workforce. And anyone who crosses the line really needs a head test

I am against strike breakers crossing the line but surely that's wrong and they could take RM to an IT for breach of contract. But seeing as they don't have the guts to stand up with the rest of us, I guess he's banking on them not standing up for themselves.

From the start of this campain i have all ways been on the side of an all out strike. in my humble oppinion rm can handle one day walk outs from now untill hell freezes over. the only way we can win this battle is to go all out for what ever time it takes untill rm comes to the conclusion that they are on a looser. i know the hardship this will have on our members but a spell of famine will i belive conclude with a long period of plenty. i honestly think mr brown pm could not allow a long dispute to continue in the first year of his term of office. :pray

strike breakers

Post by coppertop »

It is just the sort of thing that they will do. Me Iwill be on the line from 0350am as a lot of people go in at 0400 am in our office. Got my flask of coffee ready and others are going to bring cakes and butties, so we are all set for a long haul .The night staff who cannot go out till later will tell us who has sneaked in without being seen.Lucky for us the night shift is pretty militant :cfo :lfo :lfo :cfo

Very well put Ulster Postie totally agree with your thoughts. But in this day and age Icannot see you getting much support for an allout strike and yes it would come down to money
