Re. strike forthcoming - advice needed please
Excuse my/our ignorance, folks. We have a question in our site, as we're new to this business of strike action etc. The question is: Are non-members allowed to 'strike' on Friday too? Some of us think they are, others think they aren't members so why should they have the right? Any advice on this ussue (legal statutes etc) would really help. Thanks very much

I think what it means if they try to conduct you (unlikely) or do a return to work meeting, or even a new contract - you are not leagly required to sign it - this is just a guess though - best thing to do if they want you to sign anything say "I need to get advice first before I sign"Par_BS23 wrote:Excuse my ignorance but got the cwu flyer today and the last bullet point says that "there are no legal requirements for any employee to sign any RM documentation on returning to work." What documentation is this?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Re. strike forthcoming - advice needed please
Way back in 1988 ( i think it was then ) during the D R A S dispute those who took i/a, upon our return we were presented with a document that stated in future we would work normally and not partake in i/a. which we were requested to sign, I just told them to naff off as it is my legal right to take i/a if required.kaotician wrote:Excuse my/our ignorance, folks.
