Post by gazzer »

Can anyone help

I've been on holiday this week and when I got home today there was a questionaire from RM about start times being changed by one and a quarter hours, that means our office start times will change from a 6.30 am start to 7.45!!!!!!!

7.45 till 15.45 on a Saturday,they@re havin a laugh :lfo :cfo

Surely this cant be right,is this happening everywhere, our union guy said our office wouldn't be affected as our times were changed previously

Perhaps this is foresight into the next stage of their plans they will keep going till they have us in 9 to 5 so they can get collections into the duties

Their next idea will probably be no deliveries on Saturday work 9 - 5 Mon Fri - that way they'll get rid of the extra bod made up from Summer Lapsing. Hope I have not given them ideas.

Until recently they were looking at Mon-Fri only, but our DUM told us that idea had gone now because it was something we provided which the competition didn't.
So, make sure you have a good sick record. That way you can have three Saturdays off every year to spend with the kids, watching footy or anything else people with lives get up to.

Youv'e got a good point there TBT. Dont know why they didnt do it when SDD came in. We had 3 groups of 5 walks+ the rotation man amongst our total duties, they could have axed the rotation duties, and saved 3 of the walks that we lost. The offices up and down the country still on 6 days, would have gone to 5 day, no loss of dutyies/jobs. RM would have saved a packet, cos they wouldnt have had to bring in the rotation men to create the 5 day system we have now! :d'oh!

True, but then we were once obliged to deliver 364 days of the year, including xmas, and Sundays, things change

Crozier and those like him have never earned anything in their lives. He might get £1.m a year or whatever it is, but none of that was ever earned in the way we know the meaning of the word. i.e. A honest days work.

It is the reguator that keeps the Saturday delivery alive.

What savings there would be
If we didn't deliver Saturdee
Lying in a nice warm bed
Polishing the purple head

Just like Crozier! :chuckle

There's a thread already on 5 day deliveries in the news forum.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
