In my opinion the postal side of the CWU haven't got any bottle. I'm not refering to it's members, I'm refering to the senior officials. I hope your members realise that once the government has shafted the CWU then they can stick it to whomever they want. There is a further proposal to get rid of another 30,000 BT etc members by the end of the year. (There have been 60,000 job losses in BT etc in the last 10 months already). What are you going to do when they start to come at the RM with the same intentions? What can the government do if you all go on strike together? (I'm refering to every member of the CWU which at the present time stands at 250,000). The answer is nothing except listen to what you have to say. Anyone will listen to reason if you give them reason to listen.

There is an old saying: I'd rather die like a man than live like a coward.

As far as your seniors are concerned (which I don't think they are), maybe if you stopped paying your dues and stopped paying into your friendly society they might get off their a***s and do what they are paid to do, which is to protect you and your jobs. Maybe your area reps should be in senior positions as they seem to be the only ones who really care and know about what is going on.

I completely agree, if it wasn't for the members I doubt a national ballot would even be on the cards. Our subs should be going to all those who have lost pay recently whilst the rest of us are being told by the union to wait for the national ballot. They are also failing to get accross to the public, as usual, what is going on and what its all about.

I'm not RM or CWU but I wish I was because I would stick it to them first. As a member of the general public I am ashamed at the way the government uses my tax money to f**k you lot over. Is it possible for me to somehow become a CWU member even though I do not work for RM or BT so I can have my say where it would count as no-one at CWU will give me any answers, all they do is transfer my call to a dispute line which is just an answering machine that informs me that if I leave a message someone will get in touch with me. I've left various messages but not one person has been in touch. Maybe Billy has the final say as to who gets a reply and who doesn't.
I'm not an activist or anything of that ilk, I'm just an average joe who is very concerned at the way my country is being broken up and sold to the highest bidder.

All they're really woried about is their own personal gravy-train running out of steam, if they call an all out strike and their weekly sub's dries up.

Hi Jack, you can do what i am doing. Mail shows such as Newsnight, Question Time, Wright Stuff and local radio presenters too as this situation needs to be more explained for it to be a fair arguement. As the public are being spoken to like sheep. If more people requested these shows speak up about it maybe they will. Also, email and post a letter to your MP asking them to meet you to discuss. They have to, as you are a constituant. And you can ask them why they stand by letting management in a public service harass staff like this and that you dont want big bonuses paid out to managers and are sick of the whole situation. The more people who contact their MP the more pressure they feel under to get involved. They want your vote next year after all!
