What agreement is it written were f/t staff are to throw in a/g beats that come in at 08.00 . You no the one were it states a/gs will come in and just have to tie up the walk,reasoning being in our office they pay the a/gs 2 hours O/T daily to come in early and prep . They no what impact it will have on our office if f/t staff have to do the prepping. In the same breath thoe they want to take out 5 walks plus a driving duty and are allways banging on about making office savings.So we as the union are writing to our DIM asking him to cease this immediately and i need the agreement if it is in one to put in my letter .Why are they happy to employ some one on a 25hr contract but are happy for them to do the work of a full timer , this is not acceptable give them a f/t contract if that may be the case .... Help much appreciated if any.......... :cfo :cfo

Sounds like some sort of con to get more PARTIME staff in by makeing it look like the FULLTIME have not enough to do by paying PARTIMERS 2 hours overtime!. Is that not FRAUD?.

I am personally not a rep but if you can pay O/T for a P/T over getting a fulltimer to do it who is contracted to do it why the O/T ?. Something stinks and BTW i don't think any agreement covers this and your DOM has left his ass wide open!. BEFORE YOU DO THIS WHY IN GOD'S NAME DON'T YOU GET YOUR BRANCH SECRETARY IN BEFORE YOU GO OFF ON ONE!. BACK UP HELPS AND WE WILL ALL NEED IT IN THE COMING DAYS WEEKS AND MONTHS!.

As with everything RM puts its own interpretation and spin on the 2007 P&M Agmnt ... ''budget savings'', ''summer savings'', ''utlilisation of hours'', ''efficiency'' and good old ''modernisation'' are the buzz words of the moment. RM can cover a multitude of sins under these gems.

The theory being that when new technology comes online (walk sequencing and mech'd plastic, etc) full-time staff will prep/deliver their own walk plus prep duties for part-time delivery staff as there will be minimal manual coming into DOs for sorting

As always with RM, the reality bears little resemblance to the computer model!

Go into disagreement, quoting RM's refusal to work within the spirit and the actuality of the 2007 P&M Agmnt, and make RM fight for every inch of territory they want. Make no mistake this is a battle CWU members cannot afford to lose. The sooner offices countrywide realise this and begin motions to ballot for industrial action, RM will be forced to come to the negotiating table.

We may not win the war, but at the end of the day RM will have had a bloody nose and the CWU, as a union, will survive to fight another day.

Failure to act on this occasion is not an option!
