Taken off S/A if cutting off !!!

Managers are taking posties off S/A on the day that they are cutting off, we are finishing 2.45pm & S/A starts at 3.45pm, surely they are not allowed to force you to work overtime ? Thought compulsory O/T abolished in 1973 ? Our deliveries are very heavy as we are out in the sticks on large rural deliveries & most days claim excessive O/T....this is the stand the managers took when our Rep was off on holidays.

Scheduled Attendances are contractraul, the hours and content. A manager can asked "very nicely" if you would like to for go your normal s/a for Any Manner of Work (AMW) however you are fully in your right to tell them bollo (no thanks) . If they are continuing with this interuption of your earnings then get your Area Rep (good luck) involved, and use the grievance procedure.

also as S.A's are contractual if they do stop them you are entitled to one months S.A pay regardless. Not that they can just stop them like that, so they owe you money.

They MUST GIVE YOU 28 days notice, before stopping your S/A. If they don't. Then they're in BREACH OF CONTRACT! Get on to your Rep ASAP, and get something done about it.

wouldn't look good in a tribunal , log everything , date ,time , who , what ,where , when etc as back up

had this a while ago, the then DSM (sucessfully) argued that if you didnt want to do o/t you were removing yourself from all o/t including s/a till you resumed your duty the following day.

idealy, give a reason why you are not avaliable during the times being offered e.g. child care, hospital appointment or waiting for the plummer. Actually thinking about it just say you've made plans and are unavaliable during those times.

I don't see what the problem is, just stop doing ALL OT because in the near future all OT will be gone and you'll have to get used to standard pay so it's best to start now and that way whenever it happens you wont miss it.

Just had an email last night, not been at work this week on leave, apparently they are going for lapsing next week and everyone has been told there's no budget for overtime, yes I know it takes your breath away don't it?

Ever since the took over 100 hours out of the office there is no chance of any lapsing this year (from me anyway ) but I can see the others doing it and me ending up going down the conduct code
