What GB and DC fail to realize is that they need to appeal to not only the centre ground but for GB the centre left and for DC the centre right as well. Unless they do that we will have a hung parliment with the lib dems and labour forming a coalition.
10 years of TB have seen membership of the labour party half and a lack of bodies intrested in becoming local councillors.
Without a shift to the left membership will keep declining and the labour heirachy will not have enough activists to go out and campaign for them therefore sealing their own fate of returning to the opposition benches.

The labour party will only turn to the left when it has lost the next general election. Might I remind you that the new labour party has been in power for 10 years. During that time tax has risen for the poorest amongst us and dropped for the richest. This was the policy of the labour party with their assumption that wealth trickles down. Well the problem is that the tax rises and the price rises have had the opposite affect on those of us at the bottom. With the very tools that labour used to derail the tory scum 10 years ago can now be used to show what labour have done. We have the most restricted labour laws across Europe and labour MPs are proud of that fact. The labour party will come crawlling back to the workers when they have been booted out by the middle classes but the true labour (workers) supporters will not bother with the party that promised much to the working class and delivered for the middle class.
