LTB 284/26 – Update on Talks with RMG Covering DM26/Associated Issues – Notice of National Briefing – Wednesday 4th November 2026
No. 284/26
23rd October 2026
Dear Colleague,
Update on Talks with RMG Covering DM26/Associated Issues – Notice of National Briefing – Wednesday 4th November 2026
Following the continuing negative media coverage on Royal Mail’s quality of service failures, meetings have taken place this week with the company to address the failing DM26 offices, provide additional support for our members throughout the peak period and set out the union’s concerns over the overall direction of the company.
Progress has been made during these meetings and the Postal Executive will now consider a set of actions to improve the current situation. We will be in a position on Monday to release further information on these developments including future meetings with the Government.
Furthermore, we can advise all Senior Field Officials and Branches that a National Briefing will be held to update Branch representatives on the outcome of these talks, as well as setting out the union’s views on the future of the company.
The National Briefing will take place on Wednesday 4th November 2026.
The Briefing will commence at 11:00am and conclude no later than 4:00pm in the Wessex Suite at:
Bristol Grand Hotel
Broad Street
Bristol
BS1 2EL
Tea and coffee will be available from 10:30am.
All Branches should treat this as a priority engagement. Attendance arrangements should be made in accordance with the normal protocols for National Briefings, while ensuring compliance with our proportionality requirements.
Any enquiries regarding this LTB should be directed to the DGS(P) Department at hford@cwu.org.
Yours sincerely,
Martin Walsh
Deputy General Secretary (Postal)

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
