How is average holiday pay qualifying affected by sick leave?

Sorry if been asked previously, I have also looked under section, Average holiday pay..

Does any one know or can point me to published policy on how being on sick leave affects your entitlement to average holiday pay?

I've been told by hospital I need to rest up for 6 - 8 weeks due to a fracture, as It will not heal without rest, possibly get worse..

However, I'm wondering how it would affect my average holiday entitlement ie is it lost if you are on sick leave over a qualifying period? Etc

Wether its sick or annual leave if you havnt done the required 8hrs per month then you won't quailfy.

I don't actually know but I'd say 3 hours for a weeks holiday would be a guess ?

depending upon how the months are falling- I'm sure you can check on your Wage app.

the problem is that sadly if you fall in the middle of the 6 months or the 5th month - you lose all of it.

Quite alot of us when it was 1st brought in was pretty cheesed off as it doesn't allow for moments like this.

When I left RM back in 2023, I built up a total of around 300 hours unpaid because of this rule- you Have to do 8 hours a month for 6 consecutive months in a row- doesn't matter if your off sick/holiday or whichever reason- it punishes you.
