LTB 234/25 – Membership Subscription Rates from 1st February 2026
No. 234/25

29th October 2025

TO: ALL BRANCHES

Dear Colleague,

Membership Subscription Rates from 1st February 2026

The purpose of this LTB is to inform Branches that the NEC has agreed to a 3% increase on all membership subscriptions from 1st February 2026.

As Branches will be aware this is only the third increase in the subscriptions of active members in over a decade. Furthermore, the new subscription rate sees CWU membership cost maintain its position as one of the lowest amongst major UK trade unions – delivering excellent value for money for our members.

From 1 February 2026, indicative CWU Subscriptions will be as listed in the table below.

The NEC also took the decision to establish a working group to review, overhaul and simplify our subscription rates and formulas. We will actively engage Branches in this process. Further information on the review will be issued in due course.

Any enquiries relating to this LTB should be addressed to dwilshire@cwu.org or by telephone on number 0208 971 7368.

Yours sincerely,

Dave Ward

General Secretary

Tony Kearns

Senior Deputy General Secretary

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Even when it comes to subs, the CWU find a way to make it as complicated as possible.

Dave Wards 150k salary isn’t going to pay itself. He’s got a couple of holiday homes in Portugal to pay off. Don’t worry though he’s still only in his mid 60s, still time for him and Martin to put together one last sell out deal before they disappear into the sunset on their fat pensions. Just like Pullinger and other officers that came before them we will never hear from them again after they have eroded our terms yet again and lined their pockets.
The CWU is an organisation for the thick and feckless to steal a salary they would never get offered elsewhere.

No value. It is and seems a small amount. However it is being paid for no return whatsoever. CWU is done in the postal sector. Better to focus on their other cash cows now and hope that they have relevance.

To be fair the price of coffee and doughnuts has gone up over the last ten years and we wouldn't want them to run out. After all, what else would they do with their time? :cuppa
Union what Union? Do we have a union?
