Im off Good Friday and Easter Monday. Have been told this morning that I can only claim the payment option for Easter Monday????? Is this a National thing or just another local manager trying it on thing???

When you say off, do you mean its your day off, you are not due to attend or you are on leave?

I'm on leave on Good Friday and it's my day off on Easter Monday. Just had a message from someone I work with saying we can't claim the payment option for either now.....

Thats correct. There is no payment in lieu. Both days should be credited to your leave hours based on the duty hours for each day.

You are incorrect.

If a bank holiday falls on your day off you can either add it to your annual leave or be paid the overtime, it’s your option. This is a national agreement.

It's not correct. It's Royal Mail trying it on as usual.I've always received the option of a day in lieu or be paid whenever I've been on leave or day off when it's a Bank Holiday.

Bank and public holidays

In Royal Mail:

• If a bank holiday falls on a day you would normally work, you take the day off.
• If your rest day falls on a bank holiday, your manager will check if workload allows for you to have another day off that week.
• If you are unable to take another day off, you can either:
• add the day to your annual holiday entitlement; or
• take the excess hours paid as overtime. This will be paid at the Monday to Saturday overtime rate
• If you work for Parcelforce Worldwide, ask your manager how bank holidays are dealt with.
• If you have a part-time contract, your bank holiday allowance will be pro-rated depending on the number of days you work, e.g.:
• 5 day contract - full entitlement of 8 bank holidays
• 2 day contract - 3 bank holidays

Unfortunately for some it is worth noting that the time off policy was updated in 2024, very very quietly.
This is the page which explains situation with bank holidays.

Payment might be a very last resort however a manager cannot authorise it off their own back.
I had to laugh when I was offered a day's credit on my annual leave as I still have my fifth and six weeks pick to make and there are no slots left available on the calendar

Did you read the link oscar grouch posted? It literally says they are obligated to offer you a day back in lieu, nothing about pay...
