I was just wondering if anyone could put me right?
I was expecting average holiday pay in my wage calculation for my A/L commencing on 27/1/25
I am on A/L, and after being shafted for o/t in July 2024, by a stand in manager giving me none, even tho past and present iaverage 40/60 hrs a month..
I have now re built 5 qualifying periods in a row ending 29/12/24.
I have what I thought added a 6 period prior to my A/L.
Thus equalising or average holiday pay.
The 6th period I assumed would be for the 4 weeks starting from the last qualifying period ending29/12/24
Thus that being 30/12/24 - 26/1/25
My average pay periods used for calculating my A/L is quoted on app as to period ending 29/12/24.
I assumed the qualifying period would be to 26/1/25
I actually had done at least the 8 hours o/t halfway into this period
Can anyone help me make sense of this, please?
Please help if you can..

Re: Average pay whilst on annual leave qualifying period?
How much leave have you taken since April 2024? You only get holiday pay for your first 20 days of leave - as that's the legal minimum entitlement

Re: Average pay whilst on annual leave qualifying period?
Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.
According to the app,, I had 8.94 pt hp hours remaining
This was prior to the app updating today for holiday pay.
It now says my last qualifying period was 2nd to 29/12/24
And no pt ho hours remaining
But I didn't qualify as I 'failed' in july 24
But there was another 28 day period after the qualifying period they state and I did well over the min 8 hours well within the 28 days.
It seems they are saying the 8.94 pt hp hours have been used in the latest calculation but lost as I have not qualified 6 periods in a row, yet the periods have all been 28 days, and they have not counted the 28 days prior to my a/l.
I'm on a 23.5 hrs contract and prior to this leave had been calculated for average holiday pay on 14 days, though only got paid average holiday pay on 5 as lost entitlement to qualify after being denied o/t by a stand in manager for a whole month.. the a/L days you don't qualify for a/l are still deducted from your overall entitlement.
Sorry if confusing

Re: Average pay whilst on annual leave qualifying period?
Sorry I can't help any more than my post. I never really understood it other than only getting it, or potentially getting it, for your first 20 days of leave.
When they first brought it in, they back dated it by two years with four six-month periods. The only period they paid me was one where I'd also had 5 weeks off sick. That summed up how deliberately stupid their system was.
If you haven't already taken 20 days leave, I think there's a way to raise a query on the App. That may be your best option.

Thank you for your input/help
It's confusing at best
Yes I will raise a query, but hope to get some info first as I don't trust RM
