Bullshit. They'll try anything to rob you of your existing T&Cs.
The machine stops.

They really will try anything.

There's about 10 vacant duties in my office and only 2 people have put their name up for one duty.

Why?
Rounds aren't the best, there are 3 were firms walks which would have gone easily, but they turned them into like 3/4 residential walks. 2 have the condition if you sign for them and someone new starts they have to move you for 6 weeks. Which is probably often, as someone seems to leave every 3 weeks or so. other ones are 30 hours, one is a trolley which is probably take 5/6 hours to complete (i know work your hours)

Tell your union rep to press it with the manager.

There's vacant duties gone up in our office too. There's a specific duty that I've applied for which I'm hoping to get. However there is 1 other person I think may have applied for it who has a year seniority on me but is part time. I am 37 hours and full time, will I get the duty because I am full time? It's a full time duty.

There’s someone in our office that only does 3 days and still managed to get a walk pick. If they haven’t specified that the walks are full time duties only, then the person with seniority will likely get it.

Okay thanks. The cwu rep in my office told me that I would get the position over him but I've still not felt sure. Will find out soon enough anyway I guess.

Hopefully that means that it has to be done by a full timer. Good luck 🤞
