Re: Shadowban on Twitter
I'm fairly new on Twitter and don't really know how it works. I gather it's about algorithms so you are more likely to see stuff you are interested in, or that Twitter/X thinks you would be interested in.
From what I read on there a lot of people think it's got worse since Elon Musk bought it. I don't see posts from most of the people I used to follow.
I don't know if it's because they are shadowbanned, because I do see posts from some people who believe they are shadowbanned but I am still shown as following them and see their posts.

Twitter, social media, Web 2.0... it's the giant ad companies' world, you're just living in it. The current owner of Twitter is a moron, but then so was the last.
This forum was founded in 2006 before the civilisational collapse of the internet the following year. One day when the AI sewage pipe has rendered the top five websites unusuable the web can go back to being a global village of personally owned websites not subject to censorship and manipulation.

We had decentralised, non-profit, social media systems for over two decades before the year 2000. It had different names like "chat room", "bulletin board" (BBS), "Internet Relay Chat" (IRC), "Multi-User Dungeon"s (MUD) and even a few VR-based systems. They lacked some of the features of modern social media but only really due to the limitations of networks and hardware of the time. The problem was big players with deep pockets came along and re-sold these ideas to the masses as proprietary systems. The big names were AOL, ICQ, MSN and later MySpace and eventually Facebook.
The machine stops.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Shadowban on Twitter
It’s where you are not outright banned or informed that you are banned for being naughty. Instead, your tweets don’t show - so it is the equivalent of being banned because if no one can see your excellent tweets you don’t exist!
It’s a myth and is actually the algorithm of Twitter at work, prioritising what is relevant or more popular to each person’s profile.
’You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new.’
