Depends on why the ill health retirement was agreed.

Nothing stopping you rejoining after ill health retirement.

HR will put a block on your national insurance number for two years from the last day of service.

On return, if successful, you will have an occupational health report prior to being given a starting date

Depending on why you were IHR and if it was paid with pension ect, you may have to pay them money back. Would you really consider that to get back to the s**t show that is now RM. And also if your I'll health retired you should be entitled to ESA ( employment support allowance) and HB ( housing benefit) and PIP ( personnel independence payment). Don't fill in your forms yourself go a welfare right organisation. There's plenty around. The very reason you have been ill health retired will stand you in good stead when adjudication officers ( me) look at your case. Make sure your attending your doctor for the reasons that got you IHR and keep any hospital letter with the name of any consultants who you've seen. Anyway best of luck. I'm leaving DWP soon as I'm 56 now, and will be taking back from social security all those pounds I've paid in over the years. About another year I think. It's not as easy to walk away from the working life that I've been used to. Anyway if you want any more information PM me. :thumbup :thumbup
