I'll health retirement
So my ill health retirement started in May and is not yet resolved. Will I still get the 34 weeks or will it revert to the new allowance from August 1st.Seems unfair as the fault lies with Optima Health.

Re: I'll health retirement
I would think Rm will be dragging it out until August when the new agreements kick in so they only have to pay you 16 weeks plus p.i.l.o.n. unfortunately thats how this company is now run....by total scumbags....union agreed as well.

I'm resigned to accepting the 16 weeks now as August the 1st is nearly here.Hoping maybe they will go off when the retirement claim was filed.

Not sure about that one, I had my 2nd OH meeting 3 weeks ago she put in her report I’m not fit to do the job,I spoke to my manager today about my LTBIH with a lump sum payment and he said he has a meeting today with the head of sickness and he will give him all my OH and hospital letters. I’m not sure if he is talking about HR but has anybody else’s manager said that to them or is my manager just making things up?

HR would have already received the report from HR and your manager should have had a settlement to put forward to you. You should have also received a report from OH through the post.
I would speak to your manager again and your Rep if you have one. Dependant on what service you have in, you should still be entitled to IHR on your current contract as the new terms don't start till 1st August.

Re: I'll health retirement
I was offered 34 weeks at the end of April.I have a back condition that can't be improved by surgery but optima wanted another report.Since then optima and my GP have been arguing about who takes the hit for the report.Hence delay after delay.Ive got another optima meeting next week when hopefully it will be resolved.Ive done 38 years so if they cut my compensation I won't be happy.Fingers crossed .

They are delaying it with most people unfortunately. Its really poor , especially if having to leave through no choice.
Does anyone know the new total ill health payment starting in aug?
If youve done past 12 years

Everyone who has had their IHR deliberately delayed should then put in an injuries claim against Royal Mail. Shocking what they are being allowed to get away with.

Re: I'll health retirement
Surely if you have evidence that your claim was in before August 1st you should be OK.It should go off when the claim was started with Optima. When I mentioned it to Optima they knew nothing of any deadline for the difference in setements and have promised to get my claim submitted before August 1st.Its not as though its a small amount it could have massive mental health implications if someone is forced to accept the lower amount.

Hi
Wouldn’t be surprised if RM time IHr for everyone for the first few days of August, when the new lower payment comes in but before the pay rise and back pay kicks in.
I was recommended for IHR with lump sum by OH in early may. Hardly heard anything since.
