my rep seems to think once you've submitted your holiday dates you can't change or cancel them! is this right?

Also if there are slots available then of course you can change them.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Then you can change them, you've a div rep as well? It's a current theme.
Rep can't do s**t if you want to change to an empty slot.

How do you know there are slots available? Every office is required to do the annual leave plan by the end of October and the whole year should be full based on the number of reserves you have. I did the leave in my office for years and once you have put your leave in then you must find a swap if you want to change it. There shouldn't be any spaces left.

Yep, in theory I believe that’s how it should work. Personally I find it absolutely ludicrous. Make your entire workforce pick all their leave 18 months in advance, make it very difficult if not impossible to change your leave and then sit back and wonder why so many days are lost to sickness every year.97gaz wrote: ↑26 Mar 2021, 14:33How do you know there are slots available? You should be able to get the DOM to print off the chart that shows leave slot availability, don't know if it's from the old Manpower app or from PSP

Re: change/cancel holiday dates not allowed?
There is no other way to do it. Every office has a certain amount of duties it needs to cover and therefore needs a certain ammount of staff every day. It must plan ahead or it is completely screwed. Many times I've had to get a list of people from the gaffer and go round the office asking people if they would mind swapping. It's the nature of the business. And seriously it could be a lot worse. A company can dictate when you take leave.
