A common thread all over the place,for those like me done 40 years and simply had enough,together with hip and knee issues that will need addressing soon,would be more than happy to go,to make the savings our boss keeps on that he will have to make,is evr a realistic option in some units if it’s made aware?maybe boss doesn’t think I’m serious? Should I go higher than him? How does it work?

I am 64 tomorrow, 2 years away from retirement but I heard unconfirmed rumours that royal mail would not offer EVR to the likes of me because to close to retirement, ps I have 40years done as well

I doubt that there will be any evr in the short term or at least till this new agreement is implemented if accepted. I retired a year early . I live on my lump sum and Rm Pension untill the State pension kicks in. I just glad I managed to avoid Xmas pressure.

Well done you,yes took all mine a while ago,may even get ihr as am due hip replacement then a knee opp,it isn’t the job for me anymore,as much as I love my round and my customers I don’t want to ruin my health for this firm

What happens of your not given IHR even if your GP recommends it and your on sick. Do they just sack you.

I’ve no idea,they have to look at every aspect and do a scoping exercise as to what I can do maybe in callers office if available nearby etc,I’m just not sure what time frame will be to have my hip replacement replacement then recovery time then have my knee done,

EVR not a chance IHR it is up to you your doctors and RM two years sick pay or keep working? or 6 months off 11 months IHR or just keep working. You need a good excuse though like knee back or losing it good luck!

Stand a better chance of finding the holy grail then getting EVR you get 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay in a 4 year period .after 3 surgeries and my doctor writing letters to management ,by the way you have to pay for the letter, I could not get IHR as further surgery could fix my problem due to COVID surgery appointment is next October sick pay finished and so did I .couple of years to state pension so got lump sum and RM pension more than enough to see me through .best thing I have ever done health improving and enjoying life . I wish you good luck for the future but remember length of service means nothing to RM management .

Must be individual doctors but I never paid for my doctors letter. He couldnt have been more helpful in communicating with RM/OH Assist. I have to say as well when I had the phone appointment with the OHAssist doctor it was quite straight forward and he was very supportive and made his recommendation for IHR within minutes. This was autumn 2019, after the decision was made I was given IHR within two weeks.

yip around 20 grand lost 3 to evr in the last 18 months in our office i suggest you play on the stress level a bit more due to your body dropping to bits should do the trick
