Hi
i am not sure if i am posting this in the correct section ,as i am new here and this is my first post ,Can some one shed some light on this
One of my members has been told that he can only work 11 hours in one shift as he drives a royal mail vehicle some thing to do with royal mail driving regulations is it correct ?
As he is been restricted i doing overtime as he used to do fair amount of hours before ,

Yes in the drivers handbook
However, if a driver is considered ‘full time’ for the purposes of
Domestic Rules, they must not extend overall duty to more than
11 hours on any day in the week

Do all the agency staff who started in our office have to sit the royal mail driving test. We have 30 new ones this week. Poor buggers

All new employees who drive an RM vehicle should have a " changeover" as it's typically referred to.
This is simply going out with an instructor, usually from an outside contractor i.e. the AA, takes a couple of hours at most, and is necessary as part of RM's insurance policy.
