Op covering two walks advice.

Since the measures have been implemented with social distancing, a op has been asked to deliver two walks and is obliging. Their colleagues have advised the op of the use of PDA actuals, regardless imo of this situation we are in. Any advise on this situation would be obliged.

We have one doing two deliveries but he's not doing double ips

It shouldn't be physically possible to complete two walks in one duty span especially given how busy we are at the moment.

I feel like im ready for going off with stress, doing a walk then the walk next to me on alternate days, plus the oversize for both walks each day and small tracks for both walks, its just not possible, some days its 3 or 4 days of mail on each walks with overheads because I have to take a few yorks of parcels because its like xmas, anyone else sick of being punished for coming in, surely royal mail have to order more vans in

The ordering in of more vans aint going to happen:

* Lack of parking
* The places where they might hire them from will be closed
* Lack of staff - do they have enough staff to justify getting any extra vans

My office has hired 6 vans

Understandably the circumstances are a whole lot unusual at the moment , but the situation will revert to something of what was the actual terms and conditions of the job.
The concern is who will make the advantage of the situation when that time returns, or to use the phrase an, exit strategy.
For me the writing is on the wall as the "Temp" manager has already said how well its going even with op`s having to walk to first delivery point.
This is not going to end well.

It won't go very well once the lockdown eventually ends and there's a massive drop in the number of people that are in when they've got either a parcel that's too big to go through their letter box or something that needs signing for (anyone's guess as to whether the current procedure for stuff that needs signing for will be in use then)

I have been swopped over with my van share partner as he can't drive and it makes more sense for him to do my round than his. Problem is the 2 walks are not evenly balanced, he is finishing early and I am finishing late and nothing is being done to rectify this. I'd rather be on my signed for job, not his, but have been put on his job by management and I never agreed to it.

I am stressed out.

hey m8 slightly diff here but i understand what you mean....
my partner cant drive took him off and put him on a walk near the office....i got the lad from that walk as my partner because he wants to use his own car.....i dont agree but there decision.

anyway he strike a deal with the dom to do 6 loops and go home......this was ok at 1st in the early week or so of lock down......
Now though when we up to 50/60 /70 drive around on a usy day i was hammered....he`d pass me his pda after 6 loops and go home i was out till whenever delivering drive rounds.

so i took me bat and ball home...had a meeting him, me ,dom and union and asked for fairness.....this is no were near.

now hes agreed to do loops for me while i get rid off the lumps

seems to be working better this week
seems to me in your case i`d ask for me walk back

Sorry to point out but it is as directed not much you can do.
