Sick leave

Post by tmac »

I rarely go sick , but I’m off at moment the Doctor, has signed me off from 7th -21st . Does that mean I resume on the 21st or 22nd . Seems straight forward but knowing my Dom they would say 21st

Sick leave

My reasoning is that your return to work day is Tuesday 21st.
If you commenced your sick leave on Tuesday 7th then, including that day, 14 days would take you up until Monday 20th.

But I do not say I am correct!
Edit; just found this
https://support.fitforwork.org/app/answ ... e-fit-note" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Q: If the fit note states 14/10/14 to 28/10/14, should the employee return to work on 28/10/14 or 29/10/14?

A: The employee should return on 29/10/14 (the first working day after the inclusive period covered by the statement), but note your employee can go back to work at any time (including before the end of the fit note) without going back to see their doctor - even if their doctor has indicated that they need to assess them again. This will not breach your Employers Liability Compulsory Insurance, providing a suitable risk assessment has taken place if required.

So you would return on 22nd. My reasoning was incorrect.

I would say how do you feel about it on the 18th ie your condition could get worse or better if you get worse see your doctor if it is isolation stick with the advice if you feel you can work nothing to stop you going in before if your well.
