Filming a manager with your mobile

I think I know the answer, but just want to check.
If a manager is about to give a briefing to all staff that you believe will (and does) contain an admission by him/her they display an inconsistent treatment of staff, can you record it ? If you later put in a grievance, such evidence - proving they have an inconsistent approach - would be crucial to winning that grievance as they couldn’t deny they said it ?

I would advise against it.
If the manager is briefing all staff when making this 'admission' it shouldn't be hard to gather enough witnesses to sign a statement account of what was said. That's a far safer route to go down to re-enforce a grievance.

Filming on Royal Mail premises is a No No. You could end up on a conduct charge.

A person could extract the audio from a video file, and delete the video, keeping the audio for future reference?
No way would anyone with half a brain post video on social media - look what trouble it caused in the recent ballot!

I would say never use video on RM premises or upload anything from your office even audio if you want a job at the end of the month it is closely monitored by the powers that be.

Most phones have an audio recorder on them , if not there are loads of apps.

You cannot record or use any audio. If you ever put a grievence in, when you get interviewed the first thing you will be asked is if it is on record. The only time audio or video can be used is in court. RM will ignore anything other than witness statements and you may get in trouble if you use anything else.
