Can you refuse and just work your part time hours, and if so will you still stay on your signed for walk or be placed elsewhere/other office?
And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed-if all records told the same tale-then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.'"

The following is from topic on this forum - LTB 667/19 - Christmas Arrangements 2019/20

Emphasis on "opportunity" for part timers... to increase their contracted hours.

Local discussions should ensure Christmas Arrangements are concluded in line with the
terms below and relevant National Agreements to secure excellent customer service through
reliable staffing, ensuring everyone has a fair and manageable workload. Options may
include:
 Pre-scheduling hours against forecast workload
 Scheduled Attendance or pressure overtime in line with Section 5 below
 The opportunity for part timers/less than full time staff to increase their contracted
hours
 Use of temporary/agency staff as supplementary resource

Yes, you can just work your contracted hours over Christmas. However trying to do so is a daily fight with management, who are constantly trying to pressure you to take everything out. If you want to work to your time absolutely DO NOT take everything out. If you do so and bring stuff back they will try and hit you with wilful delay. Thanks for the reply. With a very weak union guy in our office (hand in hand with the mngmt) I see hassle and conflict. The part timers were not expecting to be made up this year and to be told on saturday that we were expected to do full time hours as of monday was a bit of shock. So I could refuse, still stay on my duty and just work to my time? I'm sure the o/t bandits will clear the backlog.

If the screws wanted to they could move you off your signed for duty for either 'needs of the business' or ' need to exact some petty revenge'. Not trying to be a dick here, just something to consider....
