Hello everyone

Can anyone explain to me what the allocated number of days sick we can take before we get presented with a stage 1 interview and the timeframe. I was aware that it was 13 days in 12 months but recently heard it had been reduced to 13 days in 6 months. Can anyone just let me know what it is for each of the three stage warnings please.

They’re calendar days. One week is 7 days.

So if you have 13 days and 3 absences your not get a stage

So if you have 13 days and 3 absences your not get a stage

So once you use 4th absence that is a stage even if only had say 9 days off and also when you hit the 14th day also stage 1 I did think it was 4 allowed and 14 days and when hit 15th stage 1 !! Guess I was wrong.

The standards are different in the first two years but I don't have them at hand.

Whilst a week off IS 7 calendar days, if you’re on, for example, a Monday to Friday duty, the following is true...
If you go sick and phone in on the Monday, and then feel better, ringing in on the Friday and stating you ‘will be fit to resume work tomorrow’ means they cannot count the Saturday and Sunday. It’s just coincidental that the day following your phone call is not a duty day. If RM try to say it’s anything more than a 5-day absence, get your rep involved.
