Phone calls while off sick !!

What`s the situation regarding ringing the D/O while your off sick ?
Basicly i`ve been off for just under a week ...i rang in at 5.00am on the first day of my absence
on the 3rd day the DUM rang me up questioning my illness ....i explained i would ring in when i
was well enough to come back i.e the day before i would be going back,
Then yesterday i was ill in bed and a message was left on my answer phone asking why i had`nt rang the
office and this was the 5th day ??
I mean what do they want me to do ring in on a hourly basis or what ??

Manager can ring you back on the first day and third day of first week of sick, that can then be repeated the second week.

If you have a sick note covering a specific period of time then there should be no reason why a manager should ring you at home for the duration of this sick note.

Any manager ringing everyday or more than the agreed times should be told that it is harassment and you will take it further if they do not stop ringing.

I had two managers come to my house to check on me, i left the pair of nosey c***sucking tossers standing on the doorstep in the pissing rain while i talked to them!!

The phone screen showed 12 'witheld phone calls in one day.
I guessed who this was calling and never answered. Eventually, after a blitz of more witheld calls over five days I recieved a special delivery letter from the bastard asking me to call. I did!
He asked me why no response. I told him that I presumed these were pre Xmas telesales calls and treated them as unwanted marketing calls.
Now, I presume, Mr Smart arse will think again before using these tactics on any other victim.

You have to "Think outside the box" to play off these glory boys.
Remember, play cat and mouse with them. It's fun for you and frustrating for them.

-Remain calm and remember it's your phone and you are in control

-Try not to give a emotional response which may encourage Royal Mail

-Do not enter into a conversation . Place the handset beside the phone , ignore it for a few minutes and then replace it gently .

-If the caller is silent , don't try to get them to speak -just replace the handset gently

-If Royal Mail calls again , remain silent when you pick up the handset -a geniune caller will speak first

-Never give out personal details unless you are absolutely sure you know and trust the caller ( pretty obvious that one ?)

I done that they then sent a letter saying we have stoped your pay and to call this number to resume your payment of wage's!.
