2 week sick interviews

Does anyone know if you have to attend the 2 weekly sick absence interviews? I have a workmate who is off with depression and these meetings are making matters worse. Is this part of the new agreement?

im not sure if they are compulsary , but when i was off and unab le to make them , i requested a home visit instead . and guess what they never bothered coming round.
i just think its mind games, and i can understand where your mate is coming from, the last thing the lad needs with depression is to be seeing the dums to be bullied back to work early!!

dinho is right you are entitled to ask for a home visit .that'll probably put them off.they may try say that they are doing it because they are a caring employer but its really only to brow beat you back to work asap.

You better believe it, this lad is only getting worse as its bullying tactics during these interviews. All done behind closed doors of course.

Thats fine so long as he has a Union Rep in there with him, even if he is not part of the Union. Also if he is suffering from a diagnosed case of depression then the doctor he is under should be able to state that the meetings are contributing to his condition and in his medical opinion they should not take place, or cannot take place without medical supervision. Just a thought.

careful that RM don't get funny about it and threaten to stop pay or threaten with Don't give A Toss Quacks . To get round one case of a lad signed off , they told him to plead guilty to so called Wilful Delay by Post WTF !?, The Union told Royal Failure where they could get off and the lad not to cooperate under PROPER medical advice

Seen this in another similar Industry------AMO Liverpool Personnel Manager ---"Let us sack you , you'll get all your benefits !!" -Do it properly !

I was also off with depression caused by the wonderful management we have. I refused to attend the interviews saying I wasn't well enough it was almost 6months before I did attend. Yes they did threaten to stop pay but they can't get away with it. When I did attend it was at a different office I refused to go to my own delivery office, also refused to see my DUM as it was him who had caused the problems so it was his boss who couldn't have been nicer to me. Always take Union Rep in with you never go on your own.

Just right. A lot of people are off with same thing.

Are there actual rules on attending these and where can they be found, aparently you have to go because it was part of the new agreement?

Also can they make someone retirn to work while they have a gp note, would the employers liability insurance be void?

I'm sure they can't force you to come in to work,unless the EHS over rides the note after examining you.
Basically a Manager CAN NOT order you in,as if it goes wrong he could get seriously busted.

EHS will always say you are fit for work, they just want to get us back to keep there employer happy (Royal Mail), i wonder what way we stand if we refuse to accept EHS statement?

RM DONT LISTEN TO FACTS FROM DR's.... In my opinion... They ONLY listen when you chuck the rule book at em... Then they STILL try to ignore the laws of the land and discrimination of the Ill health retirement act.... IN MY OPINION...

EHS are not god and they are only RM based and supposedly UNBIAS!!!

Well as unbias AS RM ASK the questions and ATOS ask us and send back the answers RM WANT.....

Dont let the EHS/ATOS make your and your DR's opinions over ride our health.....

OUR HEALTH COMES FIRST....
