Holiday pay entitlement

Post by Tunahowmad »

Any information or help appreciated regarding how much annual leave i should get on a 5 day, 5 hours a day 25 hours a week permanent contract. I was getting 26 days a year as i have been with ROYAL MAIL for over 15 years. This was on a 30 hour contract. 5 days a week working 6 hours daily. This year this then became 156 hours which did equal 26 days x 6 hours.

Home circumstances mean iam looking to reduce an hour a day to 5 hours over 5 days for a 25 hour week. I assumed this would still entitle me to my 26 days a year at 5 hours paid daily.

Have been informed that i would not get 26 days leave but would be less days. Thanks in advance for any advice or information as to whether i do get my 26 days on a 5 hours paid daily basis

Who informed you?
My Contract States;
Holiday Entitlement
8.1 Your holiday entitlement will be:

After 5 years 4 Weeks 3.5 Days
After 15 years 5 Weeks 1.0 Days

So you are correct in saying you are entitled to 26 Days. Reducing the amount of hours in the day will not alter the amount of days.
For instance I work 5 x 4 hours week ( 5 years service - entitlement as above = 23.5 Days = 94 hours) plus 8 bank holidays.

As you have already stated you have worked over 15 years. so if you even only worked 1 hour per day you would still get 26 days :thumbup
