Walk Sequencing machines:Its a goer.

Further to the previous reports provided to Representatives by the Assistant Secretary's Indoor and Outdoor at Briefing Meetings and via correspondence etc to Branches regarding the above.
National Meetings have been taking place with the Business in order to monitor the progress of the trials taking place which were suspended during the Pay and Modernisation Dispute but reconvened immediately following the resolution. Following our early teething problems it is now clear that the trials have been deemed by the Business to be sufficiently successful and the Business are currently in negotiation with their preferred supplier regarding additional machines.
The Business have also been scoping potential sites for future machines to be installed and their initial list of locations is attached (Below)for information purposes. Representatives should note, however, that we have been advised that detailed surveys of the proposed sites could mean this list may change considerably (up to 20%) due to accommodation/geographical restraints etc.
Further information will be provided to Branches/Representatives in due course and any enquiries regarding the above or other issues relating to Walk Sequencing should be referred to the appropriate Assistant Secretary's i.e. Bob Gibson - Deliveries, Martin Collins - Mail Centres.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I understand that the machine is the size of a MTT its not something that you can tow around an office, the other small thing to remember is that there will always be IPS these machines cannot sort all mail if its in plastic or bulky then it wont go through,if they could you would not have any reject sorting now so not all the frames will be able to go and your walk frames still need to be there as we will be delivering mail all be it less maybe, please dont get worried by what these managers come out with most would'nt know an LSM from MTT to a CFC trust me according to our DUM we would be plugging the machine in by the walk frames towing it around the office i'd like to see him.
These managers would sell thier grannys if it ment for a quiet life.
