The Communication Workers Union (CWU) and the Isle of Man Post Office have ended their long-running dispute after coming to an agreement on the pay and pension reforms.
Manx members of the CWU have accepted a two-year pay deal which is backdated to April 2018, in addition to mutually agreed 'buyouts' which include lump sums in the form of allowances.
They have also agreed to keep existing voluntary redundancy protections.
The 200 CWU members who work for the Isle of Man Post Office backed the deal with an 89% majority.
Striking began back in December last year, followed by further striking in February.
We are pleased that we have reached settlement on key elements of the pay and pension proposals for our valued workforce, seeking to maintain their terms and conditions as much as possible, while remaining financially prudent."
– JULIE EDGE MHK, CHAIRMAN OF ISLE OF MAN POST OFFICE
The CWU have said that they will be involved in negotiations in regard to future pension provisions looking forward.
