Changeover driving test

Post by ellis72 »

Hi All
Just need a bit of advice, I did my changeover driving test about 10 years ago in a Vauaxhall Combo, next week our temporary manager is insisting I do a rural delivery in a lwb transit van because thats the only one spare so she said, am I right in saying I can refuse to drive it because I've only done the changeover in a small van ?, I just need to know because she's not an easy person to deal with and it's gonna kick off next week.

Cheers
Ellis

Yes. Grievance before you are forced to drive it.

How are they not qualified to drive it?
What does the driving licence say?
This reminds me of a bloke who I once worked with who refused to drive red vans.

If its plated weight ie MAX is over 3 tonnes some may not be able to drive it depends on your licence when you passed your test if after 1997 the law changed so check your licence.

I was told at my RM driving test last year that as I was tested in a standard transit, I couldn’t drive a LWB transit as I wasn’t assessed in it. I’ve been driving 30 years and have driven Luton’s, LWB, etcetc and am covered on my licence, but not with RM
Seems odd, but that’s how it is
