If you are new to RM, on trial for 6 months and are off sick do you still get paid by RM or do you need to claim Statutory Sick Pay?
If the latter how is that worked out? Does HR do it for you?
Thanks

Newbie sick pay?

I think it should be automatic on your 4th day of sick leave, however if you really want to be sure you can just ask your manager.
Hope this helps.

As far as I know its automatic if you qualify for SSP https://www.gov.uk/statutory-sick-pay/eligibility" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. But check with HR first to be absolutely sure.

Newbie sick pay?
Thanks TBT
What if the sickness was caused by RM? If it was work related? Do you still get no pay?
I'm kinda shocked as I've always been in jobs where sickness was paid for. Never really needed it as am super healthy and can see it might be abused, but having to work a full year is a bit ridick - espesh when you have to work 6 months of that on probation. RM really does hold all the cards.

If its an accident on duty and you are not to blame in any way then you might get paid. Problem is the managers would stop your pay anyway and then you'd need to see rep and start the process of claiming it back.
So in theory and with a good rep, you would probably be paid
In reality, you probably wouldn't
