issuing 2nd stage warning

can mgmt issue 2nd stage warning without previously issuing stage 1
their is no paperwork, evidence or signed documentation etc for absences re stage 1
the guys attendance record if collated would prob trigger 1 or 2nd stage
but the fact remains we dont think mgmt can fast track to 2nd stage because of their own negligence in failing to do back to work interviews and issuing 1st stage
any info appreciated guys
our rep had to walk out of meeting as manager only interested in pursuing 2nd stage and thinks he can issue whatever

Simply no if not had stage 1 issued then can’t get a 2 as for back to works dnt really matter until stage 3 is triggered it’s there mess up but he’s a lucky boy

As the guys absence which should have triggered a stage1 and there is no evidence that a stage 1 review has taken place due to their negligence for failing to hold a FF meeting or a decision letter not including welcome back meeting then this does not exist and if another absence occurs then all absences up to the date of the meeting would be included so that would include the days of absence that have not been documented. Management cannot fast track to a stage 2 and these absences will commence at a stage 1 review.
Rep was right to walk out of meeting and hope a disagreement has been issued.
