Transfer seniority question

I have got a member who has transferred into our office with over ten years seniority.
in the office there are a few vacancies on the board.

am I right in thinking that said person can sign for a walk / postion straight away as seniority transfer's over when you move office?
the 12 month thing is only if you have signed for a walk and wish to move again?

I want to make sure I am 100% correct before saying anything.

If you transfer you still keep your seniority.

This is a tricky one as there has been conflicting opinions on this.
On transfering you do not lose your seniority as per the way forward agreement.
The problem is when the vacant duties were posted and the closing dates for application and when the transferee officially took up residence at your office.

The way I read it is the seniority carries over from day 1 at the new office, however, a transferee cannot transfer straight into a picked round to get a transfer.

So, If I am right Duty S3 goes up on 12 Oct, a transferee due in on 14 Oct cannot select it, but if one is advertised on 15 Oct then they can.

that was my thinking TBT.
once you are at an office, you are part of the staffing and therefore you can apply for duties etc that are advertised after their start date.

I'm not sure about this,but from what I understand from the way forward agreement is that if a F/T wants to transfer into your DO the vacancy for a F/timer should be offered to any P/Timer in the office first,so if a P/Timer wants to be made up the F/timer would have to drop his hours,so in other words any vacancy should be offered in the office before a F/Timer can transfer in.

Just a recap on the replies so this is completely clarified as we could have this situation occuring shortly.
Even though the advertised vacancy is still active by means of the closing date for applications and the transferee has been placed in the office before the application deadline the transferee would be excused from applying as the vacancy advert was posted before the transferee officially took up residency at this office.
I am also taking it that in the context of a transferee this includes moving between functions in a mail centre.

Distribution staff in MCs come under logistics so could well be different.

Distribution staff don’t come under logistics only the 17.5 ton drivers which is a small percentage
