Later start times

As we are starting later next week are we still allowed to cut off because our manager says we are supposed to go a certain speed and I have told him I will not be able to complete the job as have the kids to pick up from school?

As far as I am aware, cutting off was/is and will be a viable option for us.

It's not your fault they are trying to fit all the work into less time. Brought half a walk back yet again today as I have been partnered with a new starter. I'll not stay out to complete with 1 hand tied behind my back. Work to time - they can do nothing about it.....

And what speed would that be the speed of a manager to the coffee machine perhaps or of them getting chocolate cookies from the DOM or speeding away from work before their shift end's the possibility's are endless why would you worry about bull shitters at the end of the day! Tell them he she before you go out you will struggle to complete if they bully you note it down if they don't do anything it is their fault best thing is always have a witness apart from that the likes of the top of the CWU seam it's our own battles to be fought for our rights!

Thanks some good points there my manager says I should make more of an effort to finish the job not just bring mail back, I have told him I cannot work past 3 o’clock which is after my time anyway he now says he will time me and my partner LOL I said that’s fine and I will not be doing lapsing now most days until they actually test to be properly which will probably never happen it’s ridiculous he still lets some people in early yet most of us have to work till at least our time every day whilst others finish at least 45 minutes early! I can see the whole of the Royal Mail getting in a right state soon especially coming up to Christmas as apparently we have to laps up until two weeks to Christmas . Thanks for advice I will take great pleasure next week when I start to cut off I do my daughter doors 16 every day and try neighbours so if they want to test me that’s fine it could backfire big-time

You've also got to factor in potential changes in dispatch times from your local MC with a combination of the work coming in later since Network 18 and the LAT stuff, chances are that if your local MC hasn't already that they'll push the dispatch times back later

Generally they will take your hour of the beginning of your duties but it will mean everything will be 15 minutes later so a three minutes difference so not much to worry about!

SpacePhoenix is correct, due to the mess that is network 18 RM tried to push back the wave 2 dispatch in our area which meant some units would have had to move their start times by up to 90 mins.The union intervened and had the time pegged back to 10 minutes max which could be absorbed by the units without change to anybody's start times.

The big question is now how popular will the LAT become with big senders. Is it possible in some parts of the country that Amazon may decide to axe their own delivery network and instead use the LAT product?
