Waiting for evr

Four evr’s wanted in are office and myself and 3 others were given our figures a few months ago, but were still waiting for a date to go.
My figures were based on 15 years service but I have just reached 16 years, would I now be entitled to the figures for 16 years service ?

If it's EVR (Early Voluntary Retirement) your pension and payments will be based on the average of your pensionable pay over the previous 52 weeks before your Last Day of Service (LDOS).
VR (Voluntary Redundancy) payment would be based on the average over the last 26 weeks prior to LDOS. I think I've got that the right way round.
Any difference from what you were quoted is paid after re-assessment, about 8 weeks after you leave.

EVR was offered if you're over 55. You would get 26 weeks pay, your pension unreduced plus 37.5% of what you would have got had you stayed employed by RM until age 65, added onto your pension entitlement.

However after the MTSF terms were changed 2-3 years ago, it was decided EVR would only be given if the total cost to the business was less than 104 weeks pay.
If it was more than that, VR terms would apply(max of 104 weeks pay depending on age & length of service).

With the RMPP now being closed to future accrual, I'm not sure whether EVR is still an option or not. But I don't think it is.
So I would suggest basing any 'leaving package' you may get off RM, on VR.

No, all the goodness has been sucked out for future generations of staff who will NEVER have the same pensions and benefits we mostly had and I just caught the tail end of the good pens being just fifty. I even caught the good pension terms from the forces as that has now changed to payments at 60/65 and not after 22 years. No more 40 year olds getting a lump sum and pension for life...... That was in Liu of ALL those duty weekends and nights for no extra pay, especially for me in the Royal Navy who could be at sea for months at a time doing 18hour days seven days a week. Now they wonder why they can't get the bodies...
