Dom tells us if we do half a round on overtime we would normally get 3 hours for it he's now saying we get paid the overtime on what the pda says so we finish 30 mins over our time that's what we get is this correct or incorrect

Why would he pay you 3hrs for a half round if it only takes 30mins.

Just don’t do it then. Who in their right mind would deliver an extra half a round for £5?

That's interesting, when did this come in, don't recall it being flagged up when we had the vote,on the Deal of the Century mkII, not that it matters ,because I don't do overtime anymore but curious all the same.

So basically your are saying that you can do a walk and half and finish at say half 2.....so probably finish your original duty at say 1 and then the overtime takes 1hr 30? Wish our walks were possible to do that! Did walk and a half yesterday, made about 10 mins!

Yes, indeed. A few people are beginning to wake up now as to what they voted yes for and what is actually happening.

Can't help but wondering how management are going to get volunteers for overtime now though. In our place there were plenty taking on a loop or two on the understanding that they'd be getting two or three hours overtime. But like someone said above, who in their right mind is going to do that for a fiver or tenner?

I personally don't mind going over half an hour or so or even an hour or two to get my own duty done on occasion, but I'm buggered if I'd want to drive back to the DO, collect a loop that's been left or brought back, drive to do it and only get a tenner for it.

I totally understand why RM don't want to be paying people over the odds, especially if they're at home, but there's got to be some incentive, hasn't there?

This PDA Actuals malarkey has the potential to make life even more difficult for management.

And when that happens in every office round the country, the managers will be screwed as will royal mail. No on in there right mind would do overtime if that's how it's going to be. People can moan about people "running" so they can do ghost overtime but the fact is the people in my office who do it are doing twice as much work in the same time as us who don't do it. You can't expect people to do twice as much work for £5. I suppose they could slow down and do the overtime at 3pm but I think most will say no thanks

Always negotiate your rate before you take it out,we get ours signed off before we leave the office, what mug would do half a duty for 30 minutes! 2:15-2:30 I'd say is the going rate,on days they're really struggling go for 3 hrs take it or leave it
