Correct procedures for changing start/finish time or/and length of shift

Hi

Does anybody know the way this has to be done ? I’m in Parcelforce and my shift was cut by half hour per day while I was off arranging my mums funeral. The first one knew about it was when I saw the adjustment on the signing in sheet.

I would think they would have to give you notice before changing it surely
