They continue to talk culture but are shite scared of using the terms BULLYING & HARASSMENT. Until Sue Whalley has the humility to admit that there is an endemic culture in Royal Mail of B&H then just placing the onus on Local Reps and Local Managers will have SFA impact. This must come from the very top with a written statement from Sue Whalley outlining the actions that she will take when Managers are accused of B&H. A letter should also be distributed for display on notice boards on the actions that a Manager MUST adhere to, and also the delivery worker, regarding overunning deliveries.

You are right!
Without question you have outlined the MAIN problem experienced on delivery. We know the reality, not the fantasy.
If this problem was properly addressed, morale would improve overnight, people would enjoy the prospect of attending work in a hassle free environment. Turn up and do an honest days work, go home happy without added pressure from managers who are applying policies imposed by the likes of Sue Whaley. Despite her display of wanting a United effort she is only interested in shareholders, not for one instant any posties well being.
OK, wages, pensions etc are important, but it is not the only thing a Union needs to concentrate on.
Left to local responsibility will not address the problem, this is exactly where unscrupulous managers put their evil work into action on the smaller/weaker/unrepresented units. Their wicked dealings fester by big headed blabbing managers to others who only try and emulate their actions to seek some kind of superiority within the management hierarchy, so the problem of B&H never stops.
It needs a strong message sent out from Dave Ward etc, that this is not going to be tolerated anywhere within RM and steps taken to implement it on a national basis.
It suits RM to allow local control, that way they hide behind the bully managers who exploit, intimidate and harass without fear of being brought to task. The whole system of fellow managers investigating B&H cases is also the most corrupt unfair system of investigation into any cases raised by members, it is another point that is in dire need of review.
I find this old pals act being played out for members benefit a complete farce, only deployed for RMs benefit.
I also cringe with embarrassment at Terry Pullinger allowing himself to be dragged into this circus, it’s an absolute disgrace!

Agreed, the biggest culture issue within RM is Bullying and Harassment. But RM seem to think the biggest issue is lazy posties not working hard enough - and Terry sitting there like a nodding dog seems to indicate that he agrees!!! Does anyone know if or when he last actually delivered a letter - and I mean by doing a round, not a photo opportunity.

Bully and Harassment is mainly caused by the pressure to get everything delivered while ignoring the workload and duties being too big. Pressure to do overtime on the day, pressure to work a day off ("if you don't come in it will be there for you the next day") etc etc. In order to accept the workload being too big they'll have to stop the mantra of "mails down" and I can't see that happening.

Royal Mail is an appalling company to work for, and yes I am looking for another job.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

Never mind "going back to the same pile of bricks", some posties are going back to the same pile of parcels and mail left on Yorks everyday!

One of the current issues our office is having is lapsing duties because staff are on sick. What justification or fairness is that? According to our manager its when there is no staff available to do the round which is rubbish when we have several agency staff working everyday. Royal Mail can get the staff as and when they want. Its purely because of the DOMs office budget. So question, if mail and packets are left in the office is the line manager or the DOM responsible?? :hmmmm
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
