Advice please
My union rep informed me I am the next most senior person to be made up to full time. Yet those who are of less seniority are constantly being trained on full time deliveries that need covered. Does this breech the way forward agreement?

Overtime needs to be spread evenly so if anyone is working more hours than you on a constant basis it’s certainly something to complain about

In my opinion. No. As long as the overtime is being offered fairly and transparently.Warriorpostie wrote:My union rep informed me I am the next most senior person to be made up to full time. If all they are doing is covering absences or doing the duty on a temporary basis then they are not usurping seniority. Only if they are picked ahead of you for advertised duties, or fail foul of the 5% and 6 months rules for filling vacancies would they be breaching the agreement.

They train new starts up on full time deliveries & then keep them on those deliveries for months. In some cases years. Never advertising them for the likes of myself to apply for using my seniority to eventually move up from a 30hr contract. There are plenty of PT staff getting a lot more overtime than I am.

We have no confidence in our union rep I am sorry to say as he keeps himself right with management. Never putting things in writing or following correct procedures.
