Injury at work

Post by pinklady »

I have only been in the job for one month, i had a fall whilst on duty and twisted my knee really bad, i had two days rest and went back today and my knee gave way with-in the first half hour and i fell again, the manager told me to go home and ring Monday. Im just wondering where i stand with first sick pay ? and taking more time to recover. Im obviously worried as the duty round is all basement steps and no light duty available. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if your eligible for sick pay as you have only been in a month

It happened to me in my first year and sadly for that first year, you don't get any sick pay. However, you may be entitled to statutory sick pay and you'll probably need to call "benefits" to start the process.

You now have 2 absences so up for attendance review. Next time speak to your Rep, best not to go home unless Dom puts it in writing. If possible cosider going in tomorrow even if it's on light dutys as today's issue would be part day absence avoiding the review.
Only 1 more separate absence in next 2 months before review 2.

BUT did you put the initial accident into Erica? If you did :thumbup
