How Much Summer leave?

Post by BoltonPostie »

Okay I know that Royal Fail can tell an employee when to take leave(for operational needs  ) and that we are legally entitled to 5.6 days off etc but how many weeks are we entitled to in Summer??

I.e when I started we use to get 4 weeks Summer leave and then in my case a week and so many days(this was before the Working time directive :nervous ) Winter leave, which started in October and finished end of March.
Then it went down to 3 weeks a couple of weeks ago as the useless rep couldn't be arsed to leave it as it is, even though we are doing even more lapsing  .

Now we have just had our leave and the turds are trying to cut it to 2 weeks are all offices getting this or are we being shafted as normal?

None.
Holiday allocation is subject to local agreement as long as it follows the national guidelines ( even that's a joke ) and there is nothing in the national guidelines that gives you a specific right to an amount of leave in the summer.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Probably none but if your office has a sensible and fair way of allocating leave ie using whatever criteria you've got be it seniority one year then juniority the next or whatever to go through everyone to select two weeks, then round again perhaps in reverse order and then again to select further one weeks leave then you will more than likely find that the majority will get a decent first choice and also a reasonable second, that's how they do it at our place and it works ok, I'm close to the middle on seniority so never get first pick but as I say it seems to work ok I've got two weeks off in summer and another week elsewhere that were all near enough to what I wanted (plus a week i didn't really want but it was all that was left) so that's acceptable to me in a workplace such as ours.
