I have received a attendance review letter, {I have had 14 days in the last 12 months).
the reason for my sickness was due to being put on a duty(having training} I was not confident/happy with doing, I made this clear to all managers in the office in a mini meeting. I was told I had to go back on it that morning, I asked to please not put me back on it, I was put back on it, I went home, informed manager I had been sick. I informed dom when I would be back and that I was sick due to stress at work. Anyway had my return to work etc done by dom, I said sickness was due to work stress on that morning.
I have now been given the letter for my attendance review, is it ok for one of these managers to do this or do I need someone from outside as they are the reason for my sickness, I am also considering putting a grievance against 2 managers about this issue. Also do I need union present furing the review meeting?
thanks in advance

Question regarding Attendance Review meeting
Why did you go into a meeting with these so called managers they all follow orders from upon high if stress was the problem would not even go anywhere near any manager from royalmail as they just stress you even more I would if I was you always get the union in and don't even come in if you have the slightest doubt about a resolution to the whole crisis that started the stress in the first place! Anyway good luck pal and all the best.RealAleOgre wrote:I have received a attendance review letter, {I have had 14 days in the last 12 months).

Why would you want anyone with you as I understand, it's issued with no appeal.jack~jack wrote:Always have a union rep or a witness at all meetings with managers.

To get the facts right in the notes for that is what counts in an appeal at stage 3 or beyond tribunal after stage 3 dismissal.cloherty1976 wrote:Why would you want anyone with you as I understand, it's issued with no appeal.jack~jack wrote:Always have a union rep or a witness at all meetings with managers.

Question regarding Attendance Review meeting
How about go 6 months with no sickness and clear your review 1 and don’t get to stage 3.k979aaa wrote:To get the facts right in the notes for that is what counts in an appeal at stage 3 or beyond tribunal after stage 3 dismissal.cloherty1976 wrote:Why would you want anyone with you as I understand, it's issued with no appeal.jack~jack wrote:Always have a union rep or a witness at all meetings with managers.

Question regarding Attendance Review meeting
The way i see it i will be issued with a stage 1, not really a problem, alrhough i think it should not be escalated to a stage as the manager who is issuing the stage knew my concerns of the walk i was being put on, along with dom and other managers, i will make sure all my concerns about my treatment are noted for future reference, also i had area rep called in on my return with a full explanation what happened. I dont think i need a union rep present for a stage 1, if i am issued it, i have proof of email to cwu secretary regarding my treatment which may be of help in the future if this persists.
Thanks for the replies

Because its naive and pointless to do so.cloherty1976 wrote:Why would you want anyone with you as I understand, it's issued with no appeal.jack~jack wrote:Always have a union rep or a witness at all meetings with managers.
No point in paying union fees if you can't use their expertise.

and if it's a reoccurring injury, a serious condition, or a breach of the Equality Act. As said previously it would be naive to go in without at least a witness.cloherty1976 wrote:How about go 6 months with no sickness and clear your review 1 and don’t get to stage 3.k979aaa wrote:To get the facts right in the notes for that is what counts in an appeal at stage 3 or beyond tribunal after stage 3 dismissal.cloherty1976 wrote:Why would you want anyone with you as I understand, it's issued with no appeal.jack~jack wrote:Always have a union rep or a witness at all meetings with managers.

Question regarding Attendance Review meeting
Go in without a representative/colleague at your own peril. I have been in to a grievance meeting with a colleague and a union rep present. The union rep was called in by the manager and because of past doubts about this rep I insisted on having a colleague present. I was dam glad I had the presence of mind to do so.
