Leaving Royal mail, would like some union advice please.

Post by robbie11020 »

I have worked for the PO for 7 years, and i am leaving next week.
I have handed in my notice but was wondering where i stood on the fact that i have taken all my leave, will they deduct the days that i owe from my final weeks salary???
Also, am i entitled to any back pay after i leave if the deal is a yes vote??
Just for the record i voted NO even tho i am leaving coz i think the deal will be bad for the frinds i am leaving behind.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Rob, my other half just left and royal mail and they are asking for 3.5 days money back due to her taking to much leave before she left. they did not take the money off her on the last week, but what they have done is wrote to her demanding the money back or they will send debt collectors round! As for the back pay you will be entitled to any back pay untill the day you leave royal mail (pending what way the vote goes).

that was nice of them , no doubt they'll charge for solictors and the guys who don't take no for an answer , it's never thier management that are in any way underhand , disingenious or shifty .

...to be fair to them, if you've taken the money and not done the work it's their right to get the cash back. Though why a business that big can't sort out the pay before its paid to you I don't know. Daft really.
