Hi I am a new starter as a post man, this is my 6th week into the job, am i entailed to a long weekend off, i have been told because I am part time i don't get a long weekend off, is this correct, if so can i have my day off on a monday every 6 weeks

I am afraid there is no automatic right to a long weekend off in Royal Mail. However, unless your contract is specific you cannot be treated any differently than other workers be they part or full time. So if everyone else is getting long weekends, and there is nothing in your contract that would stop you getting it, you should have the same opportunity. However, it is not a guaranteed long weekend every 6 weeks if you are a reserve, but it should at least average out over the year.
All of the above presupposes that you are a "x" hour contract of 5 days out of 6.
