Last bank holiday in my office the full time staff were forced to work 42 minutes beyond their contracted hours without pay. This bank holiday my DSM is claiming that we all now owe RM 42 minutes that we have to give as our area rep has agreed claw bank for the bank holiday. My main question is, which side is our area rep on and why does he keep on nailing our hats on? I've never worked for free before yet over 50 people have been forced too?...

I'd email HQ, the area rep is wrong there is no agreement on clawback.

I'd also email the Area Rep if he hasn't told you personally. If the manager told you it was agreed by him, check with ADR every time.

my office is an anomaly, I fall under one sectors agreements yet have a different branch and attend their meetings. I refused to deal with this particular ADR 6 months ago and have a very good ADR now yet I still have to adhere to the old ADR's agreements for my sector. There's no chance we'll be doing the clawback as I'll fight that, it's more, how do I get my guys paid for when they were forced to work for free?

If you can I would get the rep to enter a disagreement, or if acting on your own behalf a grievance, not against the manager per-se but against the application of the clawback

Most decent employers would never use CLAWBACK but royalmail is not one of them for every minute ripped from the workers is in it's self an achievement to be proud and save the company from bankruptcy and the overpaid workers which they say we are when compared with other competitors, This is a myth as we have a six day week service no other competitor other than amazon don't do six day delivery and if they do they charge far more for any delivery so unless you pay amazon prime at £79 a year you get charged more for delivery! So why are they insisting we owe them for our living at the expense of ourselves because this is not about saving the business this is all about somebody's bonus and it is not yours someone is profiteering from this along the line it should not even be called CLAWBACK but CASHBACK FOR THE DOM'S and DSM'S!
