Here goes 2 weeks ago we had an office vote on a change in start times by 15 mins vote was to change . Is this classed as long and shorts if so can they only ask you to make this change once yearly.

Today DIM says he wants to cut time from certain days next week and make others longer days, office will vote on this .Is this classed as the 30 mins flex up.

I need clarification he can not have it both ways its either longs and shorts or flex up 30 mins jesus its a bit confusing

You all know knowledge is power so I am after concrete advice I have read the pay and modernisation agreement but still baffled and I have 24 hours to get my facts together.

Thanks in advance chaps

No. Long and shorts is basically some days are planned to be shorter (Mon, Tues Sat here) and the rest longer.

No - that is longs and shorts, but keep an eye out as they may try to ignore that if people are off on the short days, then at least 1 longer day needs to shortened or they work more hours than they are paid for.

30 Minutes flexing is for unseen and unusual situations (late lorry caused by a breakdown for instance) and is generally voluntary, so it can't be planned or built into the duty structure.

Why does the Dom want to move resources around next week?
Is it a one off, does he know something we don't or is this a permanent change?
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Not if they are planning it into the duties, even temporarily. 30 minutes flex is unplanned.

I guess what he is planning is to do is take some hours from Wednesday and move them to Tuesday because of the easter break. I suppose you could ask the members as some will get finished early on Wednesday and may agree to it. You might even be able to knock back some lapsing on the back of it. But strictly speaking its not flexing, but it does end up being exactly that.

Trueblue you are very correct it is that very reason he wants move hours around.

Lapsing will be out the question i predict we will be over model week.

The boys get to vote on all issues now that effect them,we had a situation in the past were it didn't happen that way.

Cheers again for the advice its helped me a great deal..

Don't forget to upset the DOM

As you have changed start and finish times ( longs & shorts ) this means a full office repick

He will not want this
